No matter how much you may want to make healthy choices, there simply isn’t time. But what if I told you it’s actually possible to be both the busiest and the healthiest version of yourself? It’s always easier said than done, but the impact a few changes can have on your mind and body are totally worth it.
Take a look at the list of the tips which will help you to take new responsibilities and work towards your dreams without feeling overloaded.
1. You can’t do it all.. So relax and keep it real!
If you have a lot of important tasks to accomplish and it seems you don’t have time for anything else except your work, you should start setting realistic goals and expectations about what you can’t and what you can do. Remember, you can’t do everything in a day, you are only human. Organize your daily schedule, set realistic goals and accomplish what you can. So if you dont’t have time to take a bubble bath…it’s really OKAY!
2. Live life for yourself
You should always make time for yourself, no matter how busy you are. Take little breaks from time to time, so you will be able to achieve your goals and fulfill your dreams. I have “me time” every single day and I manage to do the things I like because I know when I’m happy I can accomplish much more tasks than when I’m sleepy, angry and exhausted. Even if it’s just reading my favorite book in the morning, it helps me relax and have more energy throughout the day.
3. Emotions should not effect you practically- Beware!
When you are super busy and you work hard, you may feel overwhelmed and stressed every now and then, and that’s can be a reason you lose your temper very often. Try to pay more attention to your emotions and learn how to control them. You should never allow your emotions affect your success, happiness and health. If you feel that your stress levels are too high, take a break and try to relax. The best way to do it is to take a few deep breaths and just focus on positive things in your life. You’ll instantly feel more relaxed and refreshed, and you’ll manage to stay balanced and happy, even when you’re super busy. I also suggest that you take a short 15-20 minute nap; for me, it’s the most effective ways to cope with my emotions.
4. Stay organized wherever you are
I’m a huge fan of making plans and I like when everything is organized. No, I’m not a perfectionist, I just know how to manage time well and make time for the things I enjoy even when I have tons of tasks to accomplish. Sure, there are times when it’s hard to stay organized, but if you want to stay healthy and happy while you’re super busy, making plans is a must. Practice discipline, make your to-do lists and you will have enough time not only for your work, but for your personal life as well. You can even use an organization app, if you wish.
5. Accept your limitations
As I mentioned above, you can’t do everything in a day no matter how hard you try. Learning how to prioritize is a key to staying happy and healthy when you are very busy. Think of your health and happiness and remind yourself that you have limitations because you’re not a superhuman. If you focus more on your needs, you’ll be able to stay balanced, healthy and happy.
6. Use the word ‘opportunity’ more than ‘stressful situation’
You won’t feel so exhausted and stressed out if you can manage to turn your challenges into opportunities. We need to face the challenges every now and then to grow and learn something new. Learn how to turn any negative situation into a positive experience and make sure you don’t dwell on the past. Even though I understand that I can’t change the past, I often dwell on it and it keeps me from being even more successful. Luckily, I admit this mistake and I’m working toward letting go of the past and want you to do the same to become more successful and stay happy and positive when you are super busy.
7. Treat health as top most priority
Just because you are extremely busy doesn’t mean you can’t lead a healthy lifestyle. Trust me, my schedule is always overloaded, even over the weekend, but still I get enough sleep, eat healthy and drink enough water every single day. How can you face all the challenges and accomplish all your tasks when you are sleepy, tired and hungry?
