Yes! If all goes well then you may soon find TRAMs running on the congested streets of Chandni Chowk !
You hear it right ! According to the sourcesthe AAP government has decided to run TRAMs again after some 50 years that they were shut. This is a plan under the big Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Commission.
The Tram will do rounds of Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Sheeshganj Gurudwara, Old Delhi Railway Station and Fatehpuri Masjid among others in the old walled city.
Right now Kolkata is the only Indian city to have a functional tram system of it’s own. However most of the metropolitan capitals of the world use Trams to facilitate last mile connectivity. Delhi will now join the league of captials like Paris and New York to have Trams.
Trams will certainly be the next-big thing in transportation that Delhities can enjoy after Metro.
